Marquette University High School in Milwaukee WI needed to replace their old inefficient non-condensing boilers before winter took hold in the region. It was clear that an upgrade in efficiency was needed but how to upgrade and get a new boiler in a small mechanical room was another problem.
Replacing the old boilers were two Laars MagnaTherm® HTD 2M MBTU condensing boilers. These MagnaTherm HTD boilers hit all the marks. Its knockdown feature, which allows the top of the unit to be removed, made it easier to get into the mechanical room. The customer found additional benefits with the 20:1 turndown and TruTrac O2 trim package that helped to qualify them for Focus on Energy credits. Camden Whittaker, outside sales at Laars manufacturer’s rep firm, Michel Sales Agency, offered that “I can perform the start-ups and on-site expertise. Also, Michel Sales can provide an entire package in the mechanical room which makes it easier to the contractor.” Bring it on winter!
