Where We Began
Pioneering Compact High Efficiency Technology
Our legacy of HVAC innovation began in 1948 when engineer Avy Miller founded Laars Engineering. Miller revolutionized the commercial heating market by developing the concept of rapid water heating using finned copper tube heat exchangers. Key breakthroughs of this "low-mass" heating technology include:
- 9x Faster Heating: High-velocity water movement through copper tubing heated water nine times faster than traditional heavy cast iron vessels.

Every Laars Heating Systems boiler and commercial water heater undergoes rigorous factory functional testing to guarantee flawless field operation. Unlike many HVAC manufacturers, we execute a comprehensive 100% "live-fire" test on the production line at our Rochester, NH facility before any heating unit ships to your job site.
